About the author

The name’s Sylvia. Sylvia Giacinta. Giacinta is my baptized name (I’m a Catholic). That’s not my real name. I have a surname that I don’t publicize. I used to not have one. I do, now, but I have come to like my artificial name Sylvia Giacinta. It’s Sylvia A******** for immigration clerks, and Sylvia Giacinta for you.

I am now officially a twenty-something. I grew up at both Jakarta, Indonesia and Singapore. I moved to Singapore when I was 17 to stop being a spoiled girl. I succeeded, I think.

I graduated from Singapore Management University (SMU) with a degree in Information Systems Management and a second major in Corporate Communications. My majors combination, just like many other things in my life, reflects myself – non-mainstream, eclectic, and unique. Though I’ve graduated now, I always consider myself as an eternal student as I believe learning is life-long and should not stop at all.

In general, many things fascinate me, but usually I’m fixated on good books or literature works, great music, and newest innovative technology. When not surfing the web or checking my Twitter/Facebook/email endlessly on my spare time, I like to read some novels or short stories, write pieces ranging from rants to obscure poems, and sing (I’m in a choir!).

Some people like to call me geek. I like that description, though deep inside I think I’m just a regular, normal girl who likes to dress up and make up. Maybe.

About the blog

This blog was set up several months after I moved to Singapore. Previously my blog was located at blogspot. My friend introduced me this “geeky” blogging platform and my other friend offered to host it so that I can get my own domain name, and so here I go. If in my previous blog I ranted about my so-so daily life, now I post interesting findings and my own life updates occassionally.

Hope you find some value by reading my blog, even only a small grin.

Have fun reading my blog.
