Happy Independence Day, Indonesia
Published by Sylvia Giacinta August 17th, 2008 in Current Affairs. 3 CommentsHappy Independence Day, my dear home country. Haven’t seen your face in almost a year. Heard you’re doing good. And by good I mean as usual. And by as usual I mean just as bad as before.
Nevertheless I’m sure people will rejoice in this independence day (which falls on a holiday no less!). Though you might not have big platform with thousands of people performing/watching or magnificent fireworks like what the country I live in had, I’m sure independence day is a happy moment, happier than all things.
63. You’re getting old. But still strong. Be proud. So far the only thing we lost is the East Timor which is not that big loss anyways. A lot of rebels tried to break free but no, they’re still there, and we’re still one. Indonesia.
Yes I guess it’s time to pat yourself in the back and be glad that, well, after years of threats, you’re still one. United.
Happy Independence Day, Indonesia. Even though I’m not there at the moment you know my citizenship still belongs to you.
And my heart too.

Happy Birthday….
Indonesia
Hello Indonesia. Happy Independence Day!
It is kind of interesting that early on we have Singapore birthday. Last Friday was India’s birthday. Today is Indonesia’s birthday. And later on 21st, it is Malaysia’s birthday.
I am so seeing a pattern here … ha ha ha.
Bhrosodaro, merdeka!
Wilfrid, I think maybe it’s because that was the time when UK surrendered or something? But hmmm.. the independence days are actually years apart. ok never mind.
(i swear i posted this reply that day but somehow it didn’t turn up!)
