J Pop time

It’s funny. Usually I’m not so fond of J-Pop (Japanese Pop).

I know some people are so fond of J-Pop that it becomes the sorta soundtrack of their life. (read : my boyfriend)

I think I kinda miss my boyfriend so I started to listen to J-Pop all day. Here are the ones I listen to:

Sowelu with mamoru beki mono.
The lyrics together with the translation can be found in this page (kiwi-musume).

I actually prefer Sowelu’s song kimi no kehai, but I can’t find the music video.. Nevertheless, the lyrics can be found in this page.

Moving on from Sowelu…

This one is Mihimaru GT with Diverge.
Can’t find the lyrics complete with translation… =(

Another one from Mihimaru GT..

This one is called..Koisurukimochi. Bleh. So hard to type.
CAn’t find the lyrics with the translation either =(

Some (I think) ridiculous ones =P
(my boyfriend will kill me T_T)

Morning Musume with Sakura Mankai
The lyrics+translation is embedded in the music video

this one is more LOL XD

Er, seriously…….

This one is a super cool chick!

YUI with Free Bird.
Look how she strums her guitar while keeping her voice steady. Kewl~

Oh yeah and this one is my all-time favourite jPop

Ayumi Hamasaki with Jewel.
It’s one of the most expensive music videos ever made. Just so you know.

Oh … I am a huge fan of J-pop too!

Yes, YUI is great. You should go and catch her movie Midnight Sun too. It kind of enhances your listening experience when you just listen to her CDs (yes, she has two and both … erm year(s) apart … were at the same time in our Singapore HMV top 10 chart).

Of course, Ayumi is just greatness, powerness, grandness, and goddess …

Wow. What an eloquent way of putting it, the “soundtrack of their life.” Your boyfriend is not alone; millions of people are getting swept up in this. Eighteen months ago I was pretty much ambivalent about pop music in general — until I ran into Morning Musume. The singers in your fourth and fifth clips above are now among my very favorites in the world, to the point of me flying to Yokohama and Tokyo on Jan. 24-Feb. 2 to see many of those sames girls perform live at Yokohama Arena. Nothing can really describe it; as one colleague puts it, “the fever” hits and there is no cure. Thanks for your excellent song choices.

Jewel is certainly an impressive video, however I’ve heard that the “Fairyland” video was made with an even bigger budget.
I like Grateful Days more for her dressing than performance and Love, Destiny stands out for me among her older vids.

Ayumi’s injured her right hand and had surgery to help it heal.

She’ll be performing her PCDL show despite the injury and will fulfill her other show commitments as well.
