Screw you “South East Asia Ad Networks” that’s (supposedly) giving me money

Posted by: Sylvia Giacinta In: blogging world

If you people have been reading my blog for some time, you can know that I’m pretty much quiet and neutral in blogosphere (or rather narcissistic). And I’m generally a calm person. I seldom got angry.

When people started to flame Nuffnang for the SGD 1 thingy and the unavailibility of ads and many many other things, I kept quiet. I signed up for Nuffnang quietly and removed their ads quietly too when it didn’t make me a single cent while tainting my blog with their “funny” and childish images about making money from blog (what freaking money??).

Saw posts about Advertlets and signed up (also quietly) for it. Put the ads alongside Nuffnang’s ads and it made some money (like, 9 SGD worth of money. Not even enough to buy nice nice food).

So I said bye bye to Nuffnang ads and put more and more Advertlets ads.. I even tried to put more ads intact in my posts so that it will get more impressions and then…..

And then they screwed. Real bad. Their domain name expired and by some intricate programming (maybe the javascript?) my website was also redirected to the parking site. Just by having mere ads that made me 9 SGD worth of money. And I can’t even edit my advertlets ads since I put in on my post and when I tried to edit those posts.. The live preview feature in Wordpress will attempt to display the ads and… I’m getting redirected again.

Just when I thought it will give me more money.

And then, what? Nuffnang gives some exclusive account thingy? Glittery thingy? Like, duh? Exclusive ads? You mean exclusive of paying ads?

I’m not willing to give up my revenue by other ad networks for nearly impossible opportunity to get money from Nuffnang. Like, duh? Ain’t that kinda logical? As simple as that.

And I don’t want to risk my blog getting redirected to some freaky parking site. Again.

So I’m saying just two short things. Goodbye and screw you, Nuffnang and Advertlets. Keep fighting like little children, and you’ll lose everything. I’ll just say, remember the customers, not the competitors.

And keep my earnings, Advertlets. I don’t want it. Maybe you can use it to renew your domain name next year.

Screw Nuffnang is correct. Screw Timothy is correct. Screw Ming is correct. Josh is different. Josh is humble. When he makes a mistake, he would apologise profusely. He will compensate you. He will make it up to you. That is called sincerity. It is terribly, and horribly lacking in the mind of Timothy and Ming.

Ming and Timothy lives in their own world, well at least they tried to. How do i know? Because they turned blind eyes to things they do not like. This is liken to doing what ostrich likes to do when someone wants to kill them. They would put their head into the sand. Their analogy is like this - If they can’t see the enemy, then the enemy can’t see them too. Technically this is correct, but only when you switch off the lights. But if you switch off your eye balls, then obviously it cannot be correct.

Ever heard about the famous argument between Ming and Timothy? Well search on pingsg, it is somewhere. As a matter of fact, insiders from nuffnang revealed that the 2 heads are not on talking terms since before christmas.

As a matter of fact, Ming had been disliked by the Malaysian team for certain mistakes he made few months back. But whenever he visits the malaysian office, he would act like a good buddy to every single one of them.

Tell you something, Timothy and Ming deserves to go down the drain and along with their Nuffnang. They are the most arrogant entrepeneur i ever come across. They hadnt understood the equation that is fine by any standard, but to put on an air instead of keeping their head down to learn is really something that would make them unable to realise their potential anyhow.

To Tim and Ming, if you’re reading this, its time you do your stock count on the people you offended, the road isn’t very much longer and your time isn’t a lot more. You would be seen crashing before the end of the year is my prediction.

Asia Ads Network still have a long way to go. I’m disappointed with Advertlets as well. It is a major screw up on their side. Even the Americans are laughing behind our backs.

There’s always other ways to make money. So far Blog2U still have my support. Though the amount is not alot but still enough to get me my fries from Mac.

I guess I was just too pissed off when the domain expiration issue came up. And my situation was even worse than others since I couldn’t even edit my entries to remove the ads. I accept the apology. But I don’t want to risk something like that to happen again.

As for the Ming-Timothy thing.. Well I guess that’s personal opinion. I don’t know them at all to give any opinion ;)

pubed
Ya so far nothing funny happened with Adsense. Although it gives me nuts too.

Thank’s for the suggestion. Will do so later.

Ya agreed. There are still other ways to make money (and I seriously need to make some money).
Blog2U is still ok, until now. I sincerely hope they will not have any major screw-ups.

That reminds me.. I haven’t got paid. E-mailed about my account months ago and didn’t get answered. E-mailing the customer service again now.

sylv : Forgive and forget. Making mistakes are inevitable. Its how you go about resolving it. Everybody make mistakes, but how they make it up to you counts. Advertlets and Nuffnang had made mistakes. Their attitude to their mistakes would determine their potential - how far they can go. First they need to realise they did made a mistake, then they need to act quickly and think of HOW to resolve it.

Josh or paddy has handled concerning situations extremely well. They would face people with their head as low as possible with the objective to please customers, to recover trust and to control damages. They were sincere to make customers happy.

Ming and Timothy on the other hand never did took onboard responsiblity even when the mood on the ground had been made known to them. Even when they did make a mistake on a decision. Even they are as green as a kitten crossing a road, they think that they are a tiger sleeping on a road! I put this down to their false perception of the real world and the feelings of others. Bear in mind, in any business you are doing, you are only as popular as how much your customer values you. To be humble means that you acknowledge the fact offending one customer could be the equivalent of offending 1000 customers if damage control are not implemented. But no, Nuffnang do not believe in controlling damages. They continue to ‘live in their own world’ with no regards to criticisms, with no intention to understand what the outside world see of them and with no plan to convince and change how people feel about them. Their ego is too big to allow them to kowtow to customers. These 2 of them came from very well to do family. I’m afraid to say this Ming and Timothy, where you come from mean nothing to us. What only matters are where Nuffnang is heading from here.

Repeatedly they used shrewd schemes to take advantage of bloggers such as implementation of $1 for a cheque and decrease their withdrawal amount so they profit from each and every withdrawal (http://why-nuffnang-will-fail.blogspot.com/2007/11/cheque-out.html). Then there had been allegations that they deliberately ‘did not sign’ cheques to delay deposits of money into bloggers account - there are several blogs covering this.

On every single disatisfaction, they have never once come out, put their hands up and said “Its our fault” or “we’re sorry”. No matter what the feelings of the consensus. Infact Ming had came out to say they expect the community to understand their predicament because they are doing this for community and he needs his family to foot his mobile bills and this is something he did not like. Of which some bloggers question his integrity in why still doing it if he did not like it and which till today he has not response to it.

If you are a reader of Timothy’s blog, you would realise that the mentality of him is liken to a 18 year old at times. Bloggers had long given up the chance to argue with an 18 year old who come out onto the world with papa-grant money to play computer and people.

Of course there are also the allegations of bloggers earning far too little from them eventhough their traffic figure is high. Of course their earnings calculation are so dubious that some are even call them “cheating” advertisers and bloggers because when advertisements are put out and they got paid for it, they had not paid bloggers an amount commensurate to what they had promised in the first place. And the best part is every single one of their employee are having advertisements even in their personal blog. Do you know their programmer Firdaus, who doesnt need an account to log into their system has advertisement in his blog? How dubious? How greedy? How unprofessional? They will come crashing down and it is not us bloggers who bring them down, they bring themself down because their mind is filled with greed and ego.
