I love fortune tellers. Not that I believe them. The thing is, they always make my day by saying that I’m a lucky person. All of them. The one who read palms. The one who does physiognomy. Even those small pieces of paper that my mother got from the temple. Somehow all my astrology (Western or Chinese) readings always say good things. Maybe the worst thing I can read is about being stubborn and not liking rules, but hey, that can mean I’m strong-willed and potential to be a good leader (I AM THE RULE).
Whatever. The thing is, I’m (said as) a lucky person.
However, apparently the buses in Singapore totally destroy all these revelations.
Seriously, am I jinxed so that I don’t get the buses I want easily?
There was one time when I planned to go to church. Taking the bus, it will take about 20 minutes to go there. The mass would start at 11 AM and I’m already at the bus stop at 10.30 AM. The plan was soon after the mass finished, I’d go to have lunch with my friend.
And I waited. And waited. And waited.
I waited for freaking 15 minutes and the bus still hasn’t come yet!!!
Okay, wait for another minute… And there’s no sign of the bus.
I called my friend and asked to make our appointment earlier. I would be late to the church anyway.
That was the first one.
The second one was with my friend. We planned to take a common bus home from school. Actually she lives in Orchard which means she can take any bus home, but I can only take a particular bus which passes by Orchard road too.
And somehow, the bus just didn’t show up… At least before 20 minutes.
Okay, it might be a coincidence but stay tune to the last story!
I really wanted to come home that day. I was worn out and stressed out from endless work to do. Furthermore I carry heavy bags, plus my laptop in hand. There was a taxi passing by but well…. I gotta save money.
So I walked to the bus stop at YMCA building, hoping to take bus 124 and arrive safely at home.
But when I was about to cross the road, the bus 124 just passed by and disappeared far far away.
FINE.
I thought that I could take bus 131 from the bus stop in school. It’s one bus stop before the YMCA bus stop. So I walked to reach there. It’s not very far.
And when I was about to cross the road to reach the bus stop, the bus 131 just went away….
See?
I’m seriously jinxed.
Btw, I finally went home with bus 131. After about 10 minutes waiting. Don’t believe those fancy boards telling the arrival time of buses. They are really lying.

heya! LOL… when it come to the transport system in Singapore, it’s always jinx no matter who the person is! It always seems that the bus I wanna take will take a long time to arrive, but the buses that I do not want to take will come one after another!
kinda shitty la the buses that ply your route….20 minute waiting time…that’s crap….i’m an impatient fellow….i would only like to wait for buses max 5 mins…
Never.. never.. trust the bus schedule at the terminal. I guess I’m as jinxed as you when it come to bus.
Here’re some reasons why:
Act 1:
Was waiting for a bus from dorm to the city. Was looking down at the concrete floor when I saw a lady leg passed by. She (or so I thought) was standing beside me. Suddenly, a deep, manly voice said to me “would you like to be paid to have a blowjob?” (shiet! he wanted to pay me if I let him give me a BJ!) do’h! I tried to smile nicely and said.. no.. he left.. I was still awed by his offer, but at the end of the road, he looked back to me, and that’s when I decided I’ll just walk to the city.
friggin hell!
Act 2 and so on:
Ever waited a bus for half an hour, but when you decided to walk, a few metres from the bus stop, the bus passed?
Happen to me..
a LOT…
