One of the things I like to do…

Posted by: Sylvia Giacinta In: music| sylv.thinking();

Well beside slacking off and eating something good.

I like to ridicule people, especially Indonesian celebrities! And of course their “media of expression”… The corny soap operas and the oh-so-fake reality shows and the i-just-want-to-show-off so-called talent shows.

I can say that’s my whole load of entertainment back there in Jakarta. Well, apart from my series (Grey’s Anatomy!) and films which I got freely or rather cheaply. Just find some local TV shows to watch and ridicule it. From the excess make-up, overdone acting (and sometimes no acting at all), crappy and predictable storyline, too dramatic and disgusting dramas, too many high rising voices and big eyes (you’ll see what I mean in a minute)..

Those kind of things don’t even need a translation to be ridiculed.

Check this out..

Translations of the red colored words at the end of the clip :

You’ve seen a two-minute visual clip summarizing a one-day worth of TV shows.
These are the kind of shows that Indonesian people consume everyday.
Think about it.
Long live my Indonesia! (serious, this is the translation)

Now you know the reason why I ban my siblings from watching soap operas. After all our home got cable TV which means supplies of high quality… er… other things!

Okay next. I like to tease those people who are trying to be “cool” by slipping in English words in their conversations, and songs! Like WTH. Seriously WTH. Please don’t use English if you don’t speak it! I mean, I’m bilingual. English IS my second language. But not yours, obviously.

Once upon a time, ada sebuah bintang… (Once upon a time, there was a star…)

PLEASEEEEEE. PLEASE LAH.
Eh seriously. If these kind of people can make it as singers, I better go home to Indonesia now and asked to be promoted as a singer. I’ll stop my study. Do I still need to? To be celebrities earn loads more! Mwahahaha.

Of course I’m joking.

Anyway, they’re even worse in live. I’ve said it. Those kind of things don’t even need to be translated to be ridiculed.

Thank you, Bukan Bintang Biasa (it means “not an ordinary star” FYI. And yes they have a website, darlings) for making my day brighter…. by laughing at you.

Update.
I got the lyrics. Thank’s for this website.
Let’s ridicule them some more!

Once upon a time ada sebuah bintang WTH?????
Yang bersinar terang di hatimu
Ku akan datang lagi menjemputmu dengan cinta
Kan kubagikan semua bintangku
Kumiliki bintang, bukan bintang biasa
Ku bisa hapuskan semua dukamu
Ku tak akan menghilang, slalu ada di hatimu
Memberi bintang hanya untuk cinta

Reff
Dan yang terbaik selamanya bersama
Akan kubagikan bintangku demi cintamu
And when you keep on believing
Thousand ones can be sees by running What the hell does this mean? What to see? What thousands to see? And can be sees? Huh?
The miracles can do things though can’t do HUH??? Who is though? What is though?? Mwahahhahaha.
Kumiliki bintang, bukan bintang biasa
Ku bisa hapuskan semua dukamu
Ku tak akan menghilang, slalu ada di hatimu
Memberi bintang hanya untuk cinta
Dan yang terbaik selamanya bersama
Akan kubagikan bintangku demi cintamu
And when you keep on believing
Thousand ones can be sees by running
The miracles can do things though can do
Dan yang terbaik selamanya bersama
Akan kubagikan bintangku demi cintamu
And when you keep on believing
Thousand ones can be sees by running
The miracles can do things though can’t do
The miracles can do things though can’t do

Haha ok lah somebody corrected the mistakes.. It should be..

thousand miles can be seized by running
the miracles can do things thou can’t do

Hehe.. Makes sense now? But not my fault (or the-person-that-typed-the-lyrics’s fault)that it’s not clearly heard. PLEASE LAH.

Hahaha … Look at the eyes of that soap opera one. They look crazy! I’ll be perfect to play a part :D
The second youtube clip music wasnt too bad. Even Japanese pop songs have english words somewhere fitted in. I dont want to make fun of their accents cos I have a similar one.

“Lets dense togeder, lets pardee like dat”

But I think the lyrics doesnt really make sense and their voices are too weak to be enjoyable. Is that them in the third clip? They need a vocal coach stat!

Actually both of us can be great singers if the standards are like the third one! Hahahah!!
