I remember, a year ago, (the blogpost is, amazingly, in English) I was soooo happy to receive my KTP (ID card). It’s a milestone. It marks a part of my life when I’m already considered as an adult……. According to Indonesian law.
Well, well, what can I say. I moved to Singapore when I was just 17. And according to them…. I’m not an adult yet. Boohoohoo. I can’t even make an “adult” bank account. I’m left with a teenage saving account. Ugh. Thank you, Singapore, for making me feel very very young again.
However, all changed in May 4 2007, when I finally reached the age of 18 (stop yelling at me why I’m so young and I’m already at uni!!), which means I’m legally an adult in Singapore!!
I should buy some alcoholic drinks. =P
Anyway, the story must be told chronologically. But it’s very long and has many pictures, so please
At 11 PM or so, Andy called me and asked me to accompany him to eat dimsum at nearby Kopitiam. I agreed. I asked to postpone it since I have too many works (the same works that made me postpone this blog post for 3 days!!). He agreed. Okay then.
Tick tock. Time goes by. Not really tick-tock actually since I don’t have an analog clock with me.
Anyway, time goes by, decided to stop working, and Andy had not come yet. It was almost 12. Almost my birthday. And the thought of having to spent the first minutes of my birthday with Andy eating dim sum is not really….. exciting I might say. Might be different if Andy had been my boyfriend. (he is not).
Sooooo finally Andy came to my cave (student lounge, at SIS). It’s like 3 minutes before d-time. So we came down. And while we were coming down, it reached my birthday already and Maegan initiated a mass chat on MSN to greet me happy birthday (which made my poor lappie hang for a while :p).
Then he told me that he needed to take something at SESS. To make it clearer, here’s the SMU map.
The kopitiam Andy said about earlier is at Plaza By The Park (also depicted in the map).
So yeah… What can I say? I followed him to SESS, and tried to replying the messages on MSN and answering a phone call from Serla while suddenly…
Cake!!! ![]()

Close up of the cake (after being cut up)
It’s a verrryyy nice cake. Cheesecake with chocolate as the base and the top! Can’t beat the taste.
And as usual, I don’t know when this started, in every birthday celebration here we must give a “first cake”.
And my first cake goes to….

Look at his happy face. Ha ha ha ha.

Now with Della’s brother, Michael.
Later that day, I went to Indonesian Embassy to have free buffet (muahaha. Where there’s free food, there’s Sylv). Food super nice, and I was told to dance from poco-poco, dangdut, another dangdut, and don’t know what else. Geez. Exhausted.
And now time for the presents!!! Thank you so much guys for the presents!
Here’s the picture that summarizes

Close up of the mug from Yanice. I featured it since it’s very… appealing ![]()

Seriously, am I that geeky? ![]()

edit : The E-card that SMUKI (SMU Komunitas Indonesia-SMU Indonesian Community) sent to me. I’m pretty sure that the guy who got my first cake (hehe) designed it. Clarify me, Dit. =P
