Just randomly browsing Firefox Add-ons this morning and found out that one of my favourite add-ons, Performancing For Firefox, has changed into ScribeFire.
For you who don’ t know yet, PFF (now ScribeFire) is a full featured text editor attached in Mozilla Firefox which can post the thing you typed directly into your blog (after being configured, of course).
And for my fellow bloggers who is still using B**gs*o*, I’m super sure that you all are going to love it. Like, LOVE it. I know the pain of logging in (that failed) and even if you can make it, the pain of publishing (that failed…too) since I once used that system. Ever since it upgraded into the said-to-be-not-beta-anymore version, I heard it’s getting worse. Lucky I have converted to Wordpress before I’m forced to upgrade. ScribeFire removes all these logging in and publishing hassle in an instant!
Hmm, so.. What’s changed in ScribeFire? I don’t really see significant changes. Maybe it’s just that the buttons have changed color into orange, which IMHO don’t really match the whole interface which is kinda blue-y.
Using ScribeFire is really a no-fuss, hassle-free thing. Its icon sit at the bottom right corner of your Mozilla Firefox and pops up instantly when you click on it.

And voila! A full WYSIWYG editor right on your browser! Even better than Wordpress’ WYSIWYG, to be honest
What’s more? You can add Technorati tags into your post instantly, you can bookmark the posts at del.icio.us using the very same tags, you can also send trackbacks and pings instantly, just from that one window of ScribeFire.
Actually I wanted to post up a tutorial to set up ScribeFire, but really, I have more important things to attend to. Like… Coding for my project? So I assume you guys are smart enough to use ScribeFire
heh heh
Signing off…

… and so are you.
Even though I own a pro account in Flickr, I am not a photographer. Or at least I thought so.
Coz I am now, according to Musée de l’Elysée (website in French), a museum of photography in Switzerland.
They have this event called “We Are All Photographers” in which you can participate by submitting your photo, which will then be showcased in their very own museum. And what’s nicer, they will send you the image that shows that your photo is being showcased!
Here comes mine:
The original photos are here and here.
Oh if you guys want to submit, 20th of May is the last day. So submit now.
When I was in Indonesia, I really rarely use coins. Well, because I don’t really need to anyway. We don’t use cents. Even the smallest amount of money used in Indonesia is Rp 25 which is super rarely seen. Oh btw it’s equal to about 0.002 USD.
But after I moved to Singapore, things changed. With the cent system, paying something is very complicated. One glass of teh peng (ice milk tea) for 80 cents. Canned drink for 90 cents. Food for 3 dollars and 20 cents.
However, given the fact I’ve lived in Indonesia for 17 years, I am still not used to use coins. I just instinctively put out my paper banknote while actually I have coins with the same amount.
And the result? Ha. I put those spare coins in a box, this box :
And it’s now half-full. Ha ha.
There is no other way to get rid of those coins but to use it. So, now, if I want to get some snack or supper from the ubiquitous 7-11, I only bring coins. I can bring coins worth 10 dollars, you know. Ha ha.
Today is no different. My stomach has grumbled and there’s no food in home. Going to kopitiam? Too far.
Off to 7-11 I went.
I bought instant noodle (read : a daily necessity for students). Cost 2.20 dollars. Unfortunately I just brought 1 dollar and 50 cents coins with me today, so I gave the shop assistant two 1 dollar coins and one 50 cents coin with the hope she will give me one 20 cents coin along with 10 cents coin or maybe three 10 cents coins.
But…
She gave me…
six 5 cents coins.
Which means.. I get more coins than I want to spend.
Ugh.

Last Sunday I went to Singapore Conference Hall to see the yearly concert of Symphonia, a classical orchestra (er, maybe band), one CCA in SMU. Actually I once registered for it but I never came to practice. =P I’m still included in their club’s mailing list though. =P
I paid 15 bucks for the ticket, and I spent about three of my precious hours which actually can be utilized to study OOAD (Monday is the test, remember?), so they’d better be good. Real good.
Fortunately it really was. It was superb. Fantastic. Sophisticated. Whatever the thesaurus is.
And apparently somebody thought so…
And you thought I misspelled my title.

Why does the sun go on shining?
Why does the sea rush to shore?
Don’t they know it’s the end of the world?Skeeter Davis, The End Of The World
No, no. This isn’t a post about global-warming-is-going-to-make-the-ice-melting-and-it-will-drown-us-all or be-aware-because-the-end-is-near or the ridiculous the-end-is-near-so-let’s-kill-ourselves.
But anyway, yesterday felt like the end of the world because of that ridiculously hard OOAD (Object Oriented Application Development) test. I think I’ve hated Java since then.
Anyway, about the lyrics on the beginning of the post…
This is a beautiful song by Skeeter Davis, The End Of The World. Even though in the video clip she stood like a robot and her make up and hair do made her look like a transvestite, won’t you agree that she sang beautifully?
It’s a special song to me.
Well, not because of the lyrics…
Why does the sun go on shining?
Why does the sea rush to shore?
Don’t they know it’s the end of the world,
‘Cause you don’t love me any more? Why do the birds go on singing?
Why do the stars glow above?
Don’t they know it’s the end of the world.
It ended when I lost your love.I wake up in the morning and I wonder,
Why everything’s the same as it was.
I can’t understand. No, I can’t understand,
How life goes on the way it does. Why does my heart go on beating?
Why do these eyes of mine cry?
Don’t they know it’s the end of the world.
It ended when you said goodbye. Why does my heart go on beating?
Why do these eyes of mine cry?
Don’t they know it’s the end of the world.
It ended when you said goodbye.
I’m certainly not that desperate.
My mother said, when I was still small, I frequently cried, just like any other little children.
But not really ordinary.
I would stop crying… When my mother played songs. Any song. I would suddenly stop crying and keep quiet.
Especially for this song. The End Of The World.
Mom said that I “have a great taste of music since small”. Ha ha.
Oh and my second favourite song?
Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley.
Wise men say only fools rush in
But I cant help falling in love with you
Shall I stay
Would it be a sin
If I cant help falling in love with youLike a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I cant help falling in love with youLike a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I cant help falling in love with you
For I cant help falling in love with you
Any childhood song, dearies?
I checked my sitemeter today just to see the reports. Out of the blue, I decided to check the keywords used that lead the gullible readers here. heh heh.
And here’s some list…
getting weirder..
Ha ha. THat’s it for today.
Yeay! GAYA is over! I didn’t have time to introduce what GAYA is, but to do so, lemme do it quick. GAYA is the SMUKI (SMU Komunitas Indonesia-SMU Indonesian Community)’s first musical production, where we showcased drama, music, and dance.
And it was a tremendous success!
Finally. After months and months of practice, a gallon (not a litre) of tears, sweats and all that.
I really can’t describe my feeling. There’s this euphoric feeling combined with sadness. I’ll miss GAYA practice which, clearly, consumed a lot of time. I’ll miss being with the fellow GAYA performers since after this we’ll be back to our usual hectic SMU life.
Thank’s for the people who supported us.. To be our backbone and our roots…
And of course for the people who came! Those of you who watched it and now reading my blog please tell me how it was, okay!
GAYA ROX!
