Dead

I’m with no laptop now. He’s been sent to the service centre due to his outaregous behaviour, such as turning off when I’m doing my programming.

And it keeps doing that while I’m in the pile of programming projects and DM (Data Management) projects. Which means I can’t edit my E-R diagram nor make my professional report now.

Brilliant.

And now i’m blogging this from a computer in library, using internet explorer. Yeah baby.

Kill me…………..

Ever wondered..

What do bloggers look like?

Wonder no more. See here.

And yeah, if you’re a blogger too, you can get listed too!!

And here’s for Tino Buntic.

My own photo to be put. Har har har.

I know, I know. Old photo. But it’s still me, rite?

It’s such a great idea, don’t you think so?

My Songs

My favourite music pieces vary greatly. Haha. I just want to share some with you guys.
So I put my Media Player on the shuffle mode, and here are the 10 random songs :

1. Kiss Me Goodbye – Angela Aki
The soundtrack of Final Fantasy XI… I don’t know what to say anymore. I just love this song soooo much.

2. No Matter What – Boyzone
Hmm. Not old enough to be considered as an old song, isn’t it? Forget all that bad sayings about boybands. Cheesy, bubble-gum, blah blah blah blah. To me, Boyzone’s songs are timeless. Listen to it 10 years later and people would still regard it as pleasing to hear. This one is no different. Simple yet meaningful.

3. Ave Verum Corpus – Mozart
Don’t give me that look, kiddos. Yes I do listen to classical music. Anything wrong with that? Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (there are other Mozarts since his father, Leopold Mozart, was also a composer) is well known as a prodigy and a genius in music. This song is one of his great songs. I sang this song once for a church mass. And it sounded great. I love Mozart songs. Oh and have u ever heard that Mozart’s songs are good to improve intelligence? At least for babies in their warm mother’s wombs.

4. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face – Coldplay
I have many Coldplay songs in my hard disk. The thing I love about Coldplay songs is that they give some kind of calm, meditative feeling while at the same time it makes you tapping your feet and nodding your head. You can’t deny it. Har har har. Try to listen and you’ll understand what I’m saying.

5. Ms. Jackson – Outkast
I adore Outkast for their ability to mix many types of music and making it into a super unique sounds yet still bearable to ears. In fact it’s very nice to hear. The unique sounds, the perfect beats… Go Outkast! Haha.

6. Tiada SepertiMu – Giving My Best
A rock-style gospel song from a well-known gospel band, Giving My Best. I like the way praise songs presented in this trendy and youthful style. Even if you’re not a Christian, won’t you admit that it sounds nice? This one is the slower type.

7. Sunshine After The Rain – Alexander
Who doesn’t like this song, plus the lyrics? I’ll be your sunshine after the rain, when the sky is turning grey, you know that I’m not far away.. There is the full-band version but I prefer the piano version. Sounds more… Romantic? Even though the song is about friendship.
Who wants to be my sunshine after the rain? Hehehe.

8. Play Me The Song – D’Sound
Soothing, don’t you think so? You might have not heard this song before. But didn’t you just instantly fall in love with it? I like jazzy songs. It gives the calm and “high” feeling. It works like an ecstasy for me. Found the song from Prambors Hits 2 CD. Oh and just FYI, Prambors is one famous radio station for the youth in Jakarta. The unique thing about it is that it plays nice songs which is not the “popular” type (example: this very song). Even in Singapore, once in a while I like to listen to their live stream. Click here to do so.

9. The Prayer – Josh Groban n Charlotte Church
I heard the Celine Dion-Andrea Bocceli version but this version still stands as my favourite. Maybe because they both have the “opera” style voice. It suddenly became popular in Indonesia after the two finalists of the first Indonesian Idol sang the song together at the final night. You can’t deny that this song is very beautiful. The smooth transition between the Italian and the English part.. The harmonization.. You just can’t help to wonder whether they just fell off from the heaven.

10. Unforgettable – Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole
Natalie Cole sang this song merged with her Papa’s (Nat King Cole) voice. Beautiful. I love retro love songs. I think they are more timeless than that  punky emo-ey nu-metal-y thingy. Like I said at the Boyzone’s song “No Matter What”, play it 10 years later and people would still regard that as pleasing to hear. (Oh I think it’s been 10 years since it was recorded. See?) A classic. Unforgettable..That’s what you are… Oh no. Stop me from singing.

Ahem.

The songs can be listened thru this cute nifty flash mp3 player.. Brought to you by myflasfetish. Hahaha. Alternatively, click the song’s title to watch the music videos (courtesy of YouTube).
Not all the songs have music videos though.
Enjoy :D

E m p t y

I came home and what did I see?

An empty (messy) house.

I looked outside my window and what did I see?

An empty road.

Just like myself.

There ‘s someone next door who is watching TV. I can hear it.

There’s a traffic on the other road intersecting with the road.

Yet.

The house is still empty.
The road is still empty.

And so am I.

Why do I feel so… empty?
Maybe because you’re missing…

But who are you?
WHAT are you?

Cruelly robbing my cheerfulness and my spirit…

Why?

Being Sick

Sometimes I just want to be sick.

Isn’t it a perfect reason to run off from your pile of tasks?

You say you’re sick, and suddenly you’re eligible to skip your classes, to be absent from project meetings, to refrain from tiring CCA activities…

Guess I won’t take my bi ba gao today.

*coughs*

Deleting Friendster’s Testimonials

Or maybe more appropriately titled “Deleting Friendster’s Junkmonials”.

I won’t even bother to define what “junkmonial” is. But I can give you some examples of junkmonials. Just click here. ha ha. Sorry I’m too damn lazy. =P

And to clarify, no, I didn’t delete my testimonials (or junkmonials) just because of that post. Ha ha.

Friendster now has the feature of “Leave Comment”. Though not using MySpace, I’m pretty sure that the feature has been in MySpace for quite some time. And I guess it’s similar to Facebook‘s wall.

The point is, you can leave (public, of course) comment on somebody’s Friendster profile. Or maybe some glittery thingy along with “Please reply. Muackz!” line, some “I love you darling, forever and always…” line for some person that has been your boyfriend or girlfriend for 2 weeks or so (sometimes even shorter), some “How you doin’?” line, feel free to expand the list……

Thus, with that comment feature being up, we need not to leave the so-called testimonials with the characteristics mentioned above. And we didn’t even have to wait for the profile owner to approve. Kewl.

As for myself, I actually hated it when my testimonial’s page suddenly became the place for my friends to communicate with me. I mean, I was like, “Hello?? I thought Friendster has this feature called messages??”. And if you don’t believe me, I wrote about that. Here’s the link. I wrote in Indonesian and it was just an additional to my real post though.
However, hate it or not, slowly I became like them too. Ha ha. But I got a reason. For me, Friendster’s messaging feature is too slow and takes forever to load. And not because of loading their feature, but loading ads ads ads. Yew. So, long words short, it’s easier to leave testimonials (junkmonials) on people’s profiles rather than bothering to click the “Send Message” link.

So while blogging this, I’m on my way deleting the junkmonials.

However, there is something.

The thing is, when I went through my testimonials, I just realized that actually my testimonials are not only what-people-said-about-me things or some-unimportant-testimonials. My testimonials actually captured my moments of life too. My birthdays (I have passed 3 birthdays since I joined Friendster on January 2004), Christmases and New Years, Easters, even the time of my final high school exam, or even the time when I was being all-out for my individual projects at my first term.

Nevertheless, I stay with my commitment.

So sorry guys for deleting your testimonials.. Yeah it feels like deleting my pieces of life history..

Well no matter. I still have this blog. Heehee.

I used to have 425 testimonials. I’m still on my way deleting while finishing this blog post. Maybe when you see it, I already cleared all the junkmonials. Click here to see.

Why I Love Gtalk (Google Talk)

Messengers are undoubtedly my medicine for boredom. Guess that explains why I have 4 messengers installed on my stupid slow lappy.

MSN Messenger is surely the most widely used, yet the most lousy, IMHO. Yahoo Messenger is more stable, yet there are too many people who prefer MSN Messenger or just don’t know that Yahoo Messenger exists. Skype is the innovative one, aiming to provide free calls for everyone, very stable, even though I think the sound quality still doesn’t defeat Yahoo Messenger’s.

But my favourite is still Google Talk aka GTalk.

I know, I know, it doesn’t have nudge/buzz feature like MSN or YM that can serve as a powerful tool to bug somebody who is just too busy to change the messenger’s status to “Busy”. It doesn’t have cute emoticons like YM nor allow us to make customized emoticons like MSN. But the stability, the voice quality, and the transfer rate are just superb.

But actually this is the premier reason why…
(some names and other stuffs are blacked out to protect privacy)

See? In a quick glance, would you know that I’m actually chatting? Thus, GTalk is the perfect messenger to use in the middle of the class. :p Coz even the TA (Teaching Assistant) sitting right behind you won’t know that you’re actually chatting, not researching about Boolean (as you can see I’m opening a Wikipedia page of Boolean).

Even better.
GTalk is embedded in Gmail.

At a quick glance, do you know that I’m actually chatting?
The chat box is on the bottom right. See?

I’m not encouraging you to chat in the middle of the class though. =P

additional info
You can download GTalk here. It’s not a “heavy” program. Or if you’re too lazy to download and install, just chat through your Gmail (as shown above). Ha ha.

Rambling..Rambling..

I don’t know why, but this thing is just floating in my head.

Can we go to heaven?

According to today’s ISCF session (ISCF stands for Indonesian Student Christian Fellowship), we can’t. We’re just queuing to enter the hell. Why? Because we’re sinful.

Even though we already have a religion (in this case, Christian), even though we already go to church, even though we already read the bible, we’re still sinful and we’ll go to hell.

Then how to go to heaven?

Jesus is the only answer. Jesus is our bridge from this mundane (I’d rather not use the word “satanic” as he said) world to the holy world of GOD our creator.

Hmmm. I sensed something weird. I don’t know about anyone else. Maybe they’re just lost in amazement or just didn’t catch it at all.

Even if we’re Christian, we can’t go to heaven. Hmm. Doesn’t being a Christian mean that we’ve already accepted Jesus Christ as our saviour?

See, it just.. doesn’t match.

All the Christians, don’t kill me. I’m truly a good Christian, trust me. Apart from being cynical, skeptical, and all that, I believe that GOD is real and HE’s playing a super big deal in my life.

After all, I’m just questioning the language..
