My Class Is A Quiz Session
Published by Sylvia Giacinta November 9th, 2006 in me, people around, SMU and Trivial Things. 2 CommentsIt’s all in the SMU advertisement : SMU has a different pedagogy.. Or something that sounds like that.
I won’t bother to recall their flowery words about the pedagogy thingy. As far as I can see, seems like that different pedagogy means one thing : class participation.
For you who is curious about pedagogy thingy, click here to get the definition.
SMU is proud for that. Yes believe me it is. Class participation makes up 20% of our total mark. Yes people. Yes.
So don’t expect dead silence in classes as I experienced for 17 years in Indonesia.
Instead… Expect a quiz session.
The process to get that damn class participation mark is to engage in a quiz. The fastest will get it.
You know the answer? Raise your hand!
But in here, instead of raising hand…
Interrupt.
The classes in SMU are Interrupt-Me-You-Fool Quizzes.
And I guess I still have to play in this quiz.. For 4 years more.
