internet-dependent..

I never realized that I’m that internet-dependent.

But it’s so clear when my housemate said :

“Kayaknya ga ada gunanya deh sms lo. Ga pernah dibales”
“I think it’s no use to sms you. You never reply”

Well, the reason is I really seldom to look at my hp now. It’s not like when I’m in Indonesia; always willing to take a glance at my cell. Even just one. And found out that there’s nothing going on in my cell (no new sms, no new call) would disappoint me.

But you know what my reply was?

“Sori, gua emang jarang buka hp. Lain kali kalo gua lagi di sekolah e-mail gua aja”
“Oh sorry, I seldom look at my hp. Just e-mail me instead if I’m in school”

Er… D~uh?
E-mail me? Eh? Whadda?
I guess that’s what my housemate was thinking about me.

And it’s even clearer today.

I phoned my housemate earlier today.

“Cia, kenapa tadi nelpon gua?”
“Cia, why did you call me?”

“Hah? Gua ga nelpon lo kok”
“Huh? I didn’t call you..”

“Loh, tapi ada missed call dari lo di hp gua”
“But I see one missed call from you in my cell”

“Wah, itu mah dah lama banget!”
“Oh my, it was a long time ago!”

Well, okay then. I ended the call. Then back to computer, checking e-mail. The last e-mail was like…. 5 minutes ago?

Well well well.

Ladies and gentlemen, Sylvia Giacinta is officially internet-dependent.

yeay! yeay! *throws confetti*

THis is the moment when we should rejoice! Yeay!

But I really think that Changi needs to change this shitty keyboard.. I can’t space! Oh, now I can.

any enquiries, please contact my phone numb in indo. My s’pore hp will still be on, but it’ll be cheaper to me to reply via my indon phone.

So my friends….Take care!

Dearest Love Fondue,
please update me about the meeting today!

Dearest Evan and Wei Feng,
I know we can do it!

Meanwhile, lemme count the time before I eat ketoprak again………

let’s play a game!

This is just a game to prove you the small world phenomenon. Using our most favourite tool (eh?), Friendster!

I call this TSWOF! It stands for The Small World of Friendster.

note : only applicable to those who have a friendster account(s). If you haven’t got one, OMG! How can???? Please sign up first.
(Gee, Friendster should pay me for this advertisement. Hehehe)

Okay now follow these steps…

  • Go to the search page. (if you’re that kind of not-friendster-savvy, don’t freak out. THe button is just at the top, the same place as the home/profile/friends/and so on buttons)
  • You can customize your parameter. But I recommend just leave it out like that. Oh yeah, I strongly recommend to change the “Country” to the country you leave in.
  • Go to the last page you can see. Or just pick any page. Pick your favourite number. Whatever.
  • Eenie-meenie-minie-mo! Choose one profile (maybe the one with that cute guy smiling photo even tho’ we’ll never know whether it’s real or not)
  • Open the profile. (still not friendster-savvy? Geez. Juz click the name/photo, moron!)
  • See the tab at top-right. It will say “How You’re Connected”
  • You’ll be surprised! I bet you ARE connected to them. Fourth degree, fifth degree, or so on.
  • Copy-paste the connection (not knowing how? DOn’t ask me. Duh.) and post it out on your blog! (don’t have one? Duh. Get one here!)
  • Let me know the result!

I’ll start first.. See see see!!!

Note : I’ve removed all the hyperlinks. I don’t wanna get sued by the people whose Friendster URL I publicize in my blog.
(But when I think again, I guess they’ll be thanking me for that. You know, that kind of friendster-freak and i-use-friendster-to-add-people-randomly-and-make-my-list-grow kinda people.)

me Ezekiel Cutiez -AiDynNnyDiA- hahaha

not very long…hmm

me -NoEz- AnGeL MaNjA ‘Sam’ Starr

still not long! See?

me Laurent GeLLie TeckLim

aiyoh.. still 4th degree??? Gonna find the ones with longer connections.. I’m gonna try outside my country!!

How about Venezuela? Seems far enough..

Found one that stated he’s in Venezuela. But his shout-out is a lyric from an Indonesian song. So fake. Try another one.

Russian Federation! Ugh.

Still found the people that stated Jakarta as their hometown. Tsk tsk tsk. Where’s the real Russian???

Yeay. Finally found one. And..

me RAVE Jessica Ivan

Bwahahahahaha. Now the world is really small for me.

Oh wait. That Ivan actually studied at Singapore before. Yeah, not that far.

Find another one! (being too curious) How about…… Kyrgyztan! Gosh it’s difficult to spell it..Gonna find looonnggg connections!

AH, another fake country. I see people from Indonesia using Kyrgyztan as their country. Fake fake! I got a conclusion : Indonesian people are the ones who like to “customize” their country in Friendster. Believe me I didn’t find any other people from another country.

You Cynthia Erva Victor GGU Law Gaurav

Now this is what I call long.. :)

Enuff of this game.. Signing off!!

i’m gonna take the malay language course!

Coz it’s so damn easy…

Huhuhu if only I could. I found the exam papers and it was like my first grade (elementary! that was 11 years ago) exam. Duh.
I heard that Indonesians are not allowed to take that course due to the similarity to their own mother tongue. (eh so what if it’s similar???)

Oh, but how if they don’t know that I’m Indonesian? (that speaks Indonesian which is similar-but-not-same to Malay)
Since I’ve got this you-look-local look. Duh.

Everybody that sees me for the first time here (in Singapore) will think that I’m a local. Can’t blame them. I look soooo local.

I dunno whether I should be proud or…. what? I guess being considered as a local when actually you’re not ain’t something to be proud of. Or is it?
But ain’t that nice, I’m finally in a country where I can be considered a local…. If you know what I mean.
I never get that look get-out-of-here-you-freak-coz-you-don’t-look-like-us here. How can? Hahaha..

You know what, sometimes I wish I weren’t born in Indonesia.

So that I wouldn’t miss it a lot, even in a country where I’m considered a local.

it’s a small world after all??

It’s a small world after all, it’s a small world after all, it’s a small
world after all, it’s a small small world..
It’s A
Small World, Disney

Is my world really that small??

Ever since I moved to Singapore, it seems that my world is becoming smaller and smaller. What I mean is, it feels like I’ve been running through the same friendship circle again and again.

This guy is my friend’s friend. That girl knows my friend. And so on and so on.

Why do I talk about this? Well, ever since I moved here, it’s just so curious why I’ve got many connections from here to there.
Note it, many.

And you think this small world phenomenon is just a coincidence? Read this up and find out more!

Now let me list the connections. This list may not be complete, but this is what I still remember.

  • One of my friends at Indo, named Patrick, turns out to be the friend of Kinski‘s. (my junior high school friend. We were very best friends)
  • My friend Dedi turns out to be Geoffrey‘s friend. (Geoffrey was my senior at high school, and he was also the one accompanying me to walk around in S’pore)
  • My friend Kendrick was actually my senior at junior high school, and was a good friend of my ex.
  • Lius and Bimen are my friend Indri‘s friends.
  • Ernest knows mannnyyyy of my senior at junior/senior high school coz he actually studied at the same elementary school as them..

What’s next?? The boy that I fancy turns out to be my cousin????? Huhuhuhuhu.

Oh yeah, I haven’t mentioned my connection to Droo, that infamous darling blogger…Hehehehe..But no need lah. =P
